The world's biggest trout

This is one of our favourite rivers, the Rio Limay. It flows from the glacial waters of Nahuel Huapi through the aptly named Enchanted Valley. Even its name, meaning 'transparent' in the indigineous Mapuche's language, promises good fishing.

We can organise day trips trolling for large salmonids on the lakes or you can spend a day or two stalking clear chalk streams, sight fishing for 2lb rainbows. If you're really adventurous, the sea-run brown trout in Tierra del Fuego reputedly reach 30lbs, the biggest in the world. Here we work with two specialist lodges on the Rio Grande who provide guides, accomodation and, believe it or not, a guarantee you'll hook something big...

The incomparable Rio Baker in Southern Chile

Gin clear waters

A typical fishing trip will start early in the morning, with the mist rising from the river and the insects warming up in the early sun. After a break for a picnic lunch, we'll fish for the afternoon, hoping to catch something to BBQ for dinner.

If you've never fished before, you're sure to be hooked..

If you have, you probably already know that Patagonia is one of the world's top fly fishing spots.

The prices for fishing vary considerably depending on the river and the guide. If you want to fish on your holiday, call us and we'll give you the low-down.
